2nd song of the 20/20 project…
Well, here I am in week 2 of the project and I haven’t completely dried up on the creativity front! Having said that, this weeks song has been in my ‘to finish’ pile for a while and, although I’ve done some work on it for you, frankly it’s still unfinished in the sense that some of the lyrics need a re-write.
This week I’ve dabbled with sticking some drums and bass on the track. When I say drums it’s just a 2 bar loop copied and pasted!
Nonetheless here it is for your critique!

I really like this Andy! I went ahead and listened to Thankful for Your Faithfulness after listening to Where You Lead and it’s neat how in the first song you talk about how everything looks to God to take care of them and in this song, you speak of following where the Lord leads, this shows the trust we are to have in God as He leads us. The song is singable and both the lyrics and melody stick in the mind. It is a song where one can sit and be still before the Lord and concentrate on the green pastures He brings us to so that we will rest in Him. It also reminds us that He holds tomorrow in His hands…very comforting! Listening to this song brought a great peace to my spirit. God bless you, Andy and keep glorifying the Lord with your music. :o)

OK, Terri just said it all!! Before I read the above comment I felt how comforting this song feels…..through the ‘calm and through the storm’ Jesus comforts us. I could imagine myself being carried as a lamb and it felt very peaceful……something that is often needed in these difficult times - to know ‘the peace that passeth understanding’….well represented in this song, can visualize the peaceful flock just following on….and on….and on…..trusting and willing to follow. God Bless you Andy, I think you’re right on track!

I really like it but I think it needs another verse as it repeats over and over. I know that is the common thing these days. It has a real catchy melody and I think most people would enjoy it. There is so much in the Bible about Jesus our Shephard. Ben

I love this song better than the first one actually!
I really like the instrumental start of the song
It has the same easy to follow style though which will make it very easy to use when leading worship at engage, etc

Terri’s picked up on something that stuck me having listened to this and your first song i.e. that they’re linked thematically. I’m not sure if, from your blog, you’ve gone full-time in the music, but, if so, I think the two songs reflect this - you’re anxious about your new decision and so you’re falling back on scripture and looking for reassurance from God about this, which is obviously a good thing.
I would echo the comments that you’ve written another gentle, (deceptively) simple song and this again may reflect both a tenderness in who you are and vulnerability in where you’re at. Again that’s all good. Despite the fact that I liked the line ‘calm stillness or through the storm’ I was concerned that you were mixing metaphors. Okay, I know we have storms on land, but I felt transported from the shepherd looking after the flock to a boat tossed about the seas. I would maybe think about changing this line to something more ’sheep-y’.
Kind of hard to comment on the music based on the demo version but nice plucking, all the same.
