3rd song of the 20/20 project…

Howdy folks,

Thank you for your patience, I normally try to get my new song up early in the week but today has been my earliest opprotunity. Thanks to those who wrote asking where number 3 was, your hunger to hear ‘what’s next’ is an inspiration!

As a reward for your patience I am giving you 2 slightly different versions of today’s song. The tempo is the same but the chords and melody differ slightly in each one. I’d love to hear what you think works and what doesn’t.

Cheers - Andy

I definately like version number 2. Flows real nice with the melody. I like the words of this song although it needs a djemba in the background. I was playing one in my mind along with you. God bless Ben

I like both versions of this song. I like version 2 a little better. It’s got a little more punch I think. Flows really nice. I love to hear your music. I am looking forward to hearing more. Keep up the good work.

I like version 1 better but only cause two was alittle higher for me to sing with. I think two sounds stronger with a bongo or somthing it would really take off. Love the guitar sounds!

    Keep it coming!

Musically I definitely prefer version one, much preferred the guitar on this.

Lyrically, the first line is brilliant - “Your name is a refuge and I’m a refugee’ - loved that line! And you kept the theme of the song consistent throughout - the comparisons of taking refuge in God with those physical earthly places that we normally associate with strength. I was slightly troubled by the ethereal, unreal nature of ‘Your name’ as a refuge but this is probably because I like to visualise things and you can’t visualise this (compared to a harbour etc.) - I guess a non-Christian would have trouble understanding this, but it’s a small point.

PS Great use of the word ‘bastion’, should be used in more songs.
