Feels like a bit of a backlash after our Norway trip…

You may be wondering at the lack of songs appearing here!

Fear not, I have been working away and will reward your patience soon.

However, I have a temporary challenge - my laptop has crashed. You see my wife and youngest daughter, Zoe, have just returned from a very fruitful mission trip to Norway. We were with a team working with the local Vineyard church in Kristiansand, we saw a lot of healings both in the conference gatherings and on the streets of the town. We also came across a significant number of folks affected by demonic activity on the trip - I say that hesitantly because I don’t want to make a bigger deal of it than needs to be. I’ve been around long enough to be sceptical of some of sensationalism that can surround that subject.

Anyway, we had a great time, fantastic hospitality, folks finding a new level of freedom and during the worship times (I was on guitar duty in Kathryn Scott’s band) a real tangible and intimate sense of the presence of God.

I also did some street worship while the healing team were praying for folks - it never ceases to amaze me how simple worship outside of ‘church’ draws people on the fringes - I guess it’s true that all of creation recognises the presence of their creator even if they can’t articulate it in those terms!

So what’s all that got to do with my laptop? Well, it’s just one of a series of annoyances that have sprung up since our return. My guitar got damaged on the flight back from Norway (I currently ‘wrestling’ with the airline over it), my laptop crashed and other unexpected stuff.

Again, I don’t always attribute negative stuff to the activities of ‘the dark side’ but on this occassion it does feel like a bit of a backlash - after all these are the tools of my trade. But hey, it’s not life threatening just a bit inconvenient and expensive.

In the meantime I’ll get by with access to another computer and get some new music and songs up for your feedback asap.

Tomorrow (Sat) I’m off to lead worship at the Christian Renewal Centre at a prayer for Ireland day.

I’ll let you know how that goes.

Speak soon

Andy
