First song of the 20/20 project
Now that I have ventured into the ‘glamorous’ life of a musician/worship leader after 20 years of doing it part-time I have stumbled upon an idea to force my song writing creativity - I’m going to write a song a week for 20 weeks (hence the 20/20 project). And, in order to make myself accountable I’m going to publish the mp3 of my efforts here each week.
The mp3 is going to be a humble affair, just me and my guitar, but I’d love your feedback on the ideas that bubble up.
The first song can be played or downloaded below.

This song is an awesome reminder to us that God is our source and will meet all of our needs. It also is great in that it speaks of some of the attributes of God and invokes a praise response in its listeners. I love this song Andy! God bless you and continue to lift up the name of the Lord in your music. I can’t wait to hear the next 19 songs! Have a great week and thank you for giving me the opportunity to listen to your new songs!

I like it a very simple song but straight out of the word of God. Keep it up and allow God to pour His love in you. The more you read and meditate on the scriptures the more the Holy Spirit has to work with.

I really like the chorus - it has a very ‘catchy’ melody. Can’t wait to hear it with some drums and maybe even some subtle Chris Tomlin-esque Mandolin, Andy!!!
1 down, 19 to go. Bring it on!!!

Well Andy, it made me cry……A week ago I was ’spinning’ (in my head) Now I have ‘peace again’ and this song is a reminder that we don’t have to ’strive’ and ’spin’ we just have ‘to be’ what He has created us to be - as little children with no cares or worries for what the day will bring. Get up and enjoy the sunshine and the rain equally (and the snow especially here in Canada….) and go to bed at the end of the day and enjoy a peaceful, sound sleep!! No cares or regrets carried over until the next day! Thanks for the invite to share Andy and looking forward to what God is going to do with, in and through you!!! Praise Him, Praise Him all ye little children,
God is Love!!!

Well, after listening to your song just before bedtime, I opened my daily devotional in bed and guess what the reading was?? Yup, you guessed it - Matthew 6: 25 - 34……No more spinning!!!! God Bless you for confirming this message to me!!!

I appreciate Jane’s comments above and how this spoke to her. Simple effective chorus with understated vocals that I rather liked.
I know this is based on ‘consider the lilies’ but I got stuck on the bit about fish and animals knowing that everything was put in place by God as opposed to acting on a survival instinct. We believe that there is a divine plan behind our lives and we therefore choose to trust God. But animals? They just do (which I guess is Jesus’ point) and get on with their lives. I think it’s the ‘knowing’ part that I’m stuck on. Sorry to be so anal. This reminds me of the ‘molecule’ conversation we once had.
Otherwise, simple and good.
